5th Annual Kiwanis Run for the Kids Sponsored by Carrier

The Kiwanis Club of East Orange County hosted its 5th Annual Kiwanis “Run for the Kids” on the morning of Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Jay Blanchard Park. Over 100 runners and walkers took part in the Valentine's Day-themed 5K and 10K races. The event was coordinated by Kiwanis members as well as student volunteers from East Orange County's 13 service leadership programs. The money fundraised from the event will go directly back to the students in these clubs – K-Kids in Elementary School, Builders Clubs in Middle School, Key Clubs in High School, CKI at UCF, and Aktion Clubs for disabled adults.

The Kiwanis Club of East Orange County thanks its sponsors for their support. The Title sponsor for the event was Carrier Enterprise Florida – the world leader in air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems.  Additional sponsors included Sylvan  Learning Center, Business Archives, Waterford Lakes Jazzercise, Blanchard Park YMCA, and Jay Blanchard Park. The 1st through 3rd place winners in various age groups received trophies.

After the 5K and 10K, kids’ races were held in which all kids received race ribbons.  A big thank you also goes out to the almost 100 volunteers that helped make the event happen, including University Key Club, Colonial Key Club, Corner Lake Builders Club, Union Park Builders Club, and UCF CKI. Huge Turnout for 17th Annual Breakfast with Santa

Thousands of pancakes were served at the Kiwanis Club of East Orange County's 17th Annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 7th!  Thank you to the following sponsors: Steak 'n Shake, Winn-Dixie, Business Archives, Lowe's Home Improvement, The Home Depot, Bailey's Coffee Service, Ashley Furniture Homestore, Kiwanis Club of Greater Orlando-Winter Park, Bounce Orlando, Just 1 Book, Walmart Neighborhood Market, Lemongrass Spa by Tina, Mark Wayne Adams, and Legacy Middle School. All proceeds benefit Service Leadership Programs (K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, CKI) in local schools.
